Hello Legionnaires,

This month we are going to be nominating candidates who may be running for officer positions against our
present administration.  Personally I am giving notice that, due to my family situation, plus the fact that
publishing the newsletter and operating our website, basically full time positions, takes up a lot of my time, I
will not be running for the position of Senior Vice Commander again.   I do know that Gene Montalbano,
who already has experience working with our membership roles and recruiting through past and present
administrations, has indicated an interest in my position and I can’t think of a better person to assume
these duties, if he’s elected by the membership.

It has been a pleasant experience working for you as Junior and Senior Vice Commanders, as well as
working with the present officers.  Considering the challenges that were given to us last year, especially
with the unfortunate tax reporting situation, your Commander, Adjutant, and Treasurer, as well as the tax
attorney we had to hire, have been working very hard to straighten the problem out.  And, as in all areas,
our Post is their number one concern.

After discussing my decision with our Commander, I did relay my desire to serve in a less time consuming
position, if needed by the Post.

Respectfully,
Jerry Ashley,
Sr. Vice Commander

I have had the pleasure of being associated with this Post for many years and acting as
Service Officer for several of these years.  However, the time has come where I feel that it is
time to “retire” and let another Legionnaire assume my role.  The office has been a very
rewarding position, and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it, and I will be more than happy to train
the next person who assumes the position, if my services are required.

Respectfully,
Ray Manring
Service Officer
